We are dedicated to providing the highest level of support and performance for our teams on race day. We are looking for an experienced Pro Late Model Race Day Mechanic to join our team and ensure that our race cars are maintained and optimized for peak performance during race events.

Job Summary:

The Pro Late Model Race Day Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and servicing race cars throughout the race weekend, ensuring they are ready for every practice, qualifying session, and race. This role requires a mechanic who is highly skilled in diagnosing and fixing issues quickly, managing car performance adjustments, and supporting the team to achieve optimal results under tight time constraints on race day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Race Preparation: Perform final checks and pre-race inspections of the race car, including reviewing mechanical components like the suspension, brakes, tires, drivetrain, and steering systems. Ensure the car is ready for practice and qualifying sessions.
  • Car Setup & Adjustments: Collaborate with the crew chief and engineers to adjust the car setup, making precise changes to tire pressures, suspension settings, and other mechanical components based on track conditions and driver feedback.
  • Real-Time Problem Solving: Diagnose and repair any mechanical or performance issues that arise during practice, qualifying, or race sessions. Be prepared to make quick adjustments and repairs to keep the car performing at its best under race conditions.
  • Post-Race Maintenance: After each race, perform a thorough inspection of the car to identify wear and tear, check for any potential issues, and recommend any necessary adjustments or repairs before the next session or race.
  • Pit Crew Support: Provide essential mechanical support during pit stops, including tire changes, adjustments, and repairs. Work efficiently and effectively to minimize downtime and ensure the car is ready to re-enter the race quickly.
  • Collaboration with Crew: Work closely with the crew chief, engineers, and other team members to implement race strategies and adjustments. Provide real-time updates on car performance and any mechanical concerns that may impact race outcomes.
  • Equipment & Tools Management: Ensure that all tools, equipment, and spare parts are organized, maintained, and ready for quick use. Be responsible for ensuring that the team's tools and equipment are in top working condition for race day.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest advancements in race car mechanics and performance tuning. Bring new ideas and techniques to the team to help improve car reliability and speed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience as a mechanic in motorsports, particularly with Pro Late Model or similar racing series and experience in high-pressure race day environments is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of late model race car systems, including suspension, drivetrain, tires, brakes, and overall vehicle dynamics. Ability to make adjustments on the fly during race conditions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical issues quickly and effectively during high-pressure situations. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are essential.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with the crew chief, engineers, and drivers.
  • Physical Stamina & Agility: Ability to work long hours during race weekends, including physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy parts and working in tight spaces under the car.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in inspecting, maintaining, and adjusting race cars, ensuring every component meets performance and safety standards.
  • Passion for Racing: A deep passion for motorsports and a strong desire to contribute to the success of a competitive racing team.
  • Flexibility & Availability: Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and long race days. Travel to race events and availability for race weekend duties is required.
